Arts & Sciences Recognition Ceremonies

We look forward to celebrating our graduating students at our Arts & Sciences recognition ceremonies in May.

The Hooding and Recognition Ceremony for Arts & Sciences graduate students will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 3 p.m. in Graham Chapel.

The Roy and Diana Vagelos Division of Biology and Biomedical Science (DBBS) will have a separate Hooding and Recognition ceremony on Friday, May 9 at 9:30 a.m. at the 560 Music Center. All graduating DBBS students should attend the DBBS Hooding ceremony, graduate students from all other A&S departments and programs should register and attend the hooding ceremony in Graham Chapel.

The College of Arts & Sciences Recognition Ceremony for undergraduate students will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 8:30 am on Francis Olympic Field. This is the ceremony where undergraduate Arts & Sciences students will be individually recognized and cross the stage.

Please note, WashU anticipates that some additional policies will be in place for the safety of our community during the recognition and commencement ceremonies. These policies will be updated and communicated from the University and from Arts & Sciences during the fall and spring semester. All students, families and guests attending an Arts & Sciences or university ceremony should make sure they are familar with current policies before arriving on campus.

On Monday, May 12, the University will host the all-university Commencement Ceremony, where undergraduate and graduate students are recognized by school. If you have questions about the all-university Commencement ceremonies, please review the Commencement Office FAQ, or reach out to the Commencement Office directly at commencement@wustl.edu.
